Training Associates

Debra Barry has been an educator in public school since 1995. She began her career teaching kindergarten and has since taught every grade level first through eighth, including middle school social studies, title math and has served as both an instructional coach and math strategist.

In 2014, Debra worked to secure a grant for her district to create and implement a Teacher Leadership Program, the first of its kind for her district in eastern Iowa. This program provides leadership pathways for teachers seeking to expand their reach beyond classroom teaching without requiring a pursuit in administration. Debra served as the Teacher Leadership Program Coordinator for four years, leading approximately 22 full-time instructional coaches and 150 teachers in leadership positions focusing on building capacity and self-directed thinking.

Additionally, Debra is an accomplished writer, speaker and presenter. She graduated from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education and Early Childhood, and earned a Master of Arts from Coe College.

Debra is the founder and owner of Cultivate Your Coaching, LLC, which provides leadership coaching for coaches, teachers, and administrators. Debra is a training associate for Thinking Collaborative-Cognitive CoachingSM.
