Maggie B. McGatha

Maggie B. McGatha is a Training Associate for Thinking Collaborative providing professional development in Cognitive CoachingSM and Adaptive Schools. She is a former middle school mathematics teacher (14 years) and professor of mathematics education at the university level (18 years).

Maggie graduated from Morehead State University (KY) with a Bachelor�s Degree in Elementary Education. She earned her Master�s Degree in Elementary Education (emphasis in Mathematics Education) from Austin Peay State University (TN) and a Doctorate in Mathematics Education from Vanderbilt University (TN).

Publications
Maggie is the author of numerous articles, and co-author of several books including Everything You Need for Mathematics Coaching: Tools, Plans, and a Process that Works for any Instructional Leader (Corwin, 2018); On the Money: Math Activities to Build Financial Literacy, Grades 6-8 (NCTM, 2015); and Mathematics Coaching: Resources and Tools for Coaches and Leaders, K-12 (Pearson, 2014). She co-edited Elementary Mathematics Specialists: Developing, Refining, and Examining Programs that Support Mathematics Teaching and Learning (IAP, 2017).
